Vehicle Cleanliness & Hygiene
Every Roadravel vehicle is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. This is both a safety control and a service standard.
How we keep vehicles clean
- Between bookings, the driver wipes down high-touch surfaces — door handles, seatbelt buckles, seat surfaces, armrests, dashboard, climate controls and the payment terminal — with a simple detergent.
- At the end of each operating day, the vehicle receives a full interior clean: carpets and seats vacuumed, windows wiped, waste emptied, interior deodorised.
- Each week, the vehicle is given a deeper clean and full exterior wash. Where required, seats and carpets are shampooed and air-conditioning vents cleaned.
- In the event of a spill, vomit, blood or other bodily fluid, the vehicle is taken out of service immediately and professionally cleaned before returning to service.
Driver hygiene
- Roadravel drivers do not work when unwell with symptoms of an infectious illness (fever, persistent cough, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc.).
- Hand hygiene is practised before and after each booking and after any close contact with passengers or luggage.
- Hand sanitiser (at least 60% alcohol) is carried in every vehicle and is available for both driver and passenger use.
If you are unwell
If you are unwell with a potentially infectious illness on the day of your booking, please let us know in advance — we can offer to reschedule or, where the booking proceeds, your driver may offer a mask for the duration of the trip. We take passenger and driver health seriously, and we want everyone to travel safely.
Public health directions
Roadravel monitors guidance from Safe Transport Victoria, the Victorian Department of Health and the Australian Government. Where a public health direction is issued that applies to commercial passenger vehicles, we implement the required controls and brief our drivers accordingly.
These practices are documented in Roadravel's Safety Management System.
